This is kind of funny in a sick sort of way… they’re talking here about the fact that the iPod battery can probably only last 300-400 recharges… Oh the Outrage!
But if you’re like most people who wear your phone all day, charge it all night, and upgrade to the latest greatest every year or year and half… what’s the big deal here? (I’m sure Apple used this cost/benefit analysis…same as they did back when they baked the batteries in at the factory for the old – gag – huge – iPod – who’s still got one of those dinosaurs?).
Heck the U.S. automakers lived high on the "planned obsolescence" hog for a long time until the design and engineering of their product reached their plateau in the late ’70s… I say we’re just living in the Muscle Car Era of cell phones, that’s all.
